Soup for the Soul Ministry

Mission
To provide an act of pastoral care to those recently discharged from a hospital or nursing home by delivering a gift of home made soup from the parish.

History
Recognizing the need for this work of mercy, a group of volunteers met in October 2006 and offered to make the soup and coordinate the delivery of soup.

Number of Members: There are 15 members.

Meeting Frequency: An organization meeting is held once a year. Soup is made every couple of months and frozen. Deliveries occur as needed.

Comfort Blanket Ministry

The Comfort Blanket Ministry is a service project started through Mt. St. Peter parish in New Kensington. The members of this ministry make blankets for parishioners who are going through difficult times.

The Comfort Blanket Ministry meets on the 1st Monday of each month in the Parish Office Library at 6:30 PM.

Bereavement Ministry

The Bereavement Ministry is a 6 week supportive ministry for parishioners who have lost a loved one within the past year. These sessions are held twice a year - in the Fall and in the Spring. The program is led by a bereavement coordinator from Heartland Hospice.

Mercy Meals

Volunteers prepare meals after funerals for family and friends of the deceased. This ministry is sponsored by the Addolorata Society.
