December 6 - Feast of St. Nicholas

December 6 - Feast of St. Nicholas

As a Saint, Nicholas is a pattern for faithful living. As a cultural icon, he reaches beyond the church into society. Discovering the truth about Santa Claus - a person of faith whose love for God led to concern for the needy and vulnerable - can assist those searching for more meaning in the often stressful and frantic holiday seasons. St. Nicholas helps us all to focus beyond ourselves.

Fruit Basket Delivery to Homebound

Fruit Basket Delivery to Homebound

Saturday, December 13
9:30 AM
Marble Hall

The holidays will soon be approaching and on Saturday, December 13 at 9:30 AM, Mount Saint Peter, Saint Mary and Saint Joseph parishioners will have an opportunity to deliver fruit baskets to our nursing home and homebound parishioners.

You can deliver a fruit basket on that day or shortly after at your convenience. We have limited our delivery area so that we won’t have to travel as far. All three parishes are represented, so we would like to see volunteers from all three parish communities. School and Confirmation service hours can be obtained.

We will meet at Mount Saint Peter Marble Hall on Saturday, December 13 at 9:30 AM for a short prayer service. Fruit baskets will be organized by addresses for easy pickup and delivery to nearby areas.

For more information and to volunteer, please contact Darlene Resek at 724-335-3536.

OCIA (Order of Christian Initiation for Adults)

OCIA (Order of Christian Initiation for Adults)

Are you or someone you know interested in becoming Catholic?

The Order of Christian Initiation for Adults (OCIA) is the process through which those who are not baptized are able to become members of the Catholic Church and baptized Christians can receive the Sacraments of Initiation (Holy Communion and Confirmation).

This process includes times of study, prayer, and Rites that take place at Mass. Formation sessions will begin in mid-September.

If you or someone you know is interested, please contact Timothy Ruflin in the parish office to find out more and to set up a meeting.
