Youth Preparation for the Sacrament of Confirmation
Preparation for the Sacrament of Confirmation occurs gradually over the years following the celebration of First Holy Communion. Children and their parents are invited to claim anew these gifts of God’s love, first given in Baptism and confirmed again in the Sacrament of the Spirit. The Sacrament of Confirmation is celebrated according to the Bishop’s schedule.
The following links are provided for those parents and children who are preparing for the Sacrament of Confirmation at the parishes in New Kensington and Lower Burrell.
Parents of Rising 8th Graders
Mark your calendars for one of the following dates for the Confirmation Retreat. Each Confirmation student should plan to attend ONE of the following retreat days:
- Wednesday, October 28
- Wednesday, November 11
- Saturday, November 21
There will also be a Confirmation Parent Meeting on Tuesday, August 25, 2026 at Saint Margaret Mary Church in Lower Burrell.
